MINI dealers like us will be pairing up with local athletes, supporting their endeavours to qualify for Team GB or ParalympicsGB.
We are really chuffed to announce that we are now supporting local athlete, Nick McCormick, as he attempts to qualify for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Nick currently represents the Morpeth Harriers in Newcastle. Newcastle-born Nick has been running since the age of 16 and, at 30, is the 11th fastest British male 1500m of all time.
“I’m really grateful to Stratstone Tyneside and MINI for their support,” said Nick. “It’s tough trying to qualify for an Olympic team place and it’s a big help knowing that they are behind me, helping to raise funds and awareness. It’s also fantastic having a brand new car from now until the end of the Games. There’s a lot of travelling to heats, competitions and promotional events so it’s great being able to arrive there in style.”
